trisha mcloughlin

Author, survivor, and storyteller passionate about turning life’s deepest struggles into messages of hope and healing.

Trisha McLoughlin is a retired Executive Assistant and Office Manager who built a successful career through determination, dedication, and hard work. A graduate of Alaska Business College in 1974 with an Executive Secretarial Degree, she fulfilled her original dream of becoming an Executive Assistant to a CEO after years of professional growth and experience. Her journey reflects a lifelong commitment to perseverance and excellence, qualities that have guided her both personally and professionally.

Trisha currently resides in north-central Arizona with her husband Ryan and their two loving, energetic chihuahuas. Before settling in Arizona, she spent nearly thirty-five years in Alaska. Growing up just twelve miles north of Mt. McKinley (Denali), she later moved to Anchorage after marriage and eventually to Chugiak, where she and her husband raised their two sons. Throughout the years, Trisha and her family created treasured memories through travel, exploring places such as the Caribbean, Ireland, and Scotland, even sharing those experiences with Ryan’s father and their sons while reconnecting with their ancestral roots. The beauty and spirit of the Scottish Highlands continue to hold a special place in their hearts.

After retirement, Trisha faced one of the greatest challenges of her life when she contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized for six weeks. Despite being told that she might not survive, her determination, strong will, and faith carried her through. That life-changing experience became the catalyst for finally bringing to life the manuscript she had kept with her for over a decade. Encouraged by her counselor, family, and friends, she chose to share her deeply personal story with the world. Through The Dolls Were Listening: My Life From Abuse to Victory, Trisha hopes her journey of pain, resilience, faith, and healing will inspire others to discover strength within themselves and achieve victory over their own past.
